String Quartet No. 4 in Cincinnati

Artistic Director Hiro Matsuo leads an exploration of the Fugue, a compositional technique used through the ages, featuring J.S. Bach’s Art of the Fugue, NY-based and Cincinnati-bred composer Michael Ippolito’s String Quartet No.4, and the colossal Grosse Fugue by Ludwig van Beethoven. Choreographer Jimmy Cunningham of the Cincinnati Ballet will provide visual representation of Bach’s Art of the Fugue.

Attacca Quartet at Kettle Corn New Music

The Attacca Quartet performs on December 12th at 7pm, in a program pairing excerpts of John Adam's John's Book of Alleged Dances with the New York premiere of Kettle Corn Co-Artistic Director Chris Rogerson's String Quartet No. 2. Attacca will also play short works by Michael Ippolito and Timo Andres who will join the quartet as a pianist to close this program with Robert Schumann's masterful Piano Quintet.
